Hello:
I am the great granddaughter of Captain James Myles who was born in Ceres, Fife, in 1825. He married my great grandmother Susan Crofts of Dundee in 1857 and we have some of the letters he sent to her from his round the world voyages that are quite fascinating. I will be in touch again when your new season of events starts in the autumn. I am rarely in Scotland but very interested in these family connections.
All the best,
Maida Macdonald Stadtler

Hello. I'm the administrator of the Orrick DNA project at FTDNA.

Orricks have been in the US since 1650.
Histories say that they came from Fife where they were known as ORROCK.
Y-DNA is showing connection to O'Rourke of Ireland but this doesn't
mean that they didn't go through Fife as Orrock.

So, I'm trying to find a living male ORROCK who is confident of his
lineage in Fife back to 1650 to test. Would appreciate any help you
can offer.

My parents, Donald Sutherland Clark and Wilheminia Dryburgh Mackie, were both born in Leven, Fife in 1907. I grew up hearing stories of Leven and the surrounding area. It is part of my earliest memory and I still feel drawn to my ancestry there.

DUNCAN: We are looking for cemetery records/monument inscriptions for our grandparents Robert DUNCAN (1859 - 1941) and Jane Boucher (nee HONEYMAN) DUNCAN (1859 - 1923). We know that Jane died in Canada but her remains were, supposedly, interred in Dunfermline (name of cemetery not known). Would also like to know the burial place/monument inscriptions for three of their six sons, William (1882 - 1936), Robert Honeyman (1884 - 1963) and Alexander Boucher (1897 - 1962) who are all supposed to be buried at Dunfermline (again, name of cemetery is not known). The other three sons emigrated to North America -- John (1888 - 1940) is buried at Brownvale, Alberta, Canada; James Honeyman (1890 - 1954) is buried at Du Page, Illinois, USA; and David (1896 - 1970) is buried at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

We have managed to obtain from Scotlands People copies of birth, marriage and death records for almost all of the above mentioned people. But, due to the fact we live in Canada it's difficult to get details of burial for those to died in Scotland.

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you all in advance.

ADAMSON family history - looking for any descendants of Alexander Adamson who lived in Priory Lane Dunfermline in the late 1870's. He was married to Ann Murray. They had children Isabella, Julia, John, James and Ann. After his wife died in 1878 Alex continued to live in Priory Lane with daughter Ann who had a son Alexander in 1878. Any info or old photo's would be great, particularly re daughter Ann and her son Alexander (Harley).

Am trying to due some family research. It is believed that my Great Grandfather John McLiverty emigrated from Scotland to British Honduras. Church records and other historical records were destroyed in a hurricane.
I have found 1851 and 1861 record with our name in Kirkcaldy Fife and in
Dundee (Angus). He was married to a Hannah Hunt McLiverty who died in January 1897 in the British Honduras. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
